Delayed report due to a very busy period over the last month!  Claire once again competed for Guyana, this time in Denmark, at the Cycling World Championships.  Unfortunately, there were no male or junior riders from Guyana on this trip but Claire flew the flag extremely well in her first World Championships.  She rode the TT on 20th Sep but was one of many caught in the changing weather that made parts of the flat course treachorous, particularly the cobbles.  Our friend Kathrine Bertine represented St Kitts and Nevis and faired better with an earlier start time so riding mostly in the dry.

The elite women's road race took place on 24th Sep over a 10 lap 140km course.  Claire struggled with the fast pace and was pulled out just before the halfway mark but wasn't the first to be lapped out, so a small victory!  Kathrine, at her 4th Worlds held on for 7 laps but eventually the pace was too high and she too was lapped out, but on reflection was content with getting further than ever before.
